Wrestlemania 33 Predictions

It was only a year ago where all of us hardcore Wrestling fans were dreading Wrestlemania because of the large amount of injuries that were holding back many Superstars from appearing on the Showcase Of The Immortals.  This year fans have some new complaints but it is not due to a card lacking in names, it is more about placement on the card or the obvious choice of having two part time Wrestlers competing for one of the top prizes in the entire company.  Regardless of what us Hardcore fans think or want this years Wrestlemania is a fairly stacked card and there is certainly a lot to get excited about.  I am going to break down for you right now my predictions for Wrestlemania 33.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match (Kickoff Match)
Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries

A match with the potential to be a show stealer in terms of in ring quality is going to be one of the matches to kick off the show at this years Wrestlemania.  There is a lot of backlash over this match and the SDLive Women on the pre show, however I feel like this is happening because the card is already heavily stacked, there needs to be time for appearances as well.  So for any of us who brave out the full amount of time and watch the kick off show we are being treated to some strong opening matches.  Neville has been an absolute delight since his return and Neville as Cruiserweight Champion has brought a lot more prestige to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.  Austin Aeries or A Double has brought a whole new dynamic to the game on 205 Live and now it is time for Aeries to share the spotlight with Neville on the grandest stage of all.  I honestly feel that true fans will be depriving themselves of quality matches if they do not tune in to the kick off show this year.  Neville and Austin Aeries are sure to deliver a barn burner of a contest.  In the end I believe we will see Neville use some form of heel tactics to earn himself a win here and retain the Cruiserweight Championship.  Allowing this fued to carry on and build more will make for more intrigue surrounding 205 Live and the Cruiserweight division as well.

Winner: Neville

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match (Kickoff Match)
Champion Alexa Bliss to defend against all female SmackDown LIVE Superstars who are available to compete

As we learned this week on SdLive Naomi is going to be included in the mix for this match.  There is still a strong possibility of there being added names to the mix as well but at the end of the day this one seems to be going the way of a Naomi win.  That is what one may think by what we saw on Tuesday night, but I am going to go a different way and say this win is going to be picked up by Mickie James.  I feel WWE has faith in Mickie James and a win here at Wrestlemania would see Mickie break records and cement her name as one of the absolute best Women’s wrestlers of all time.

Winner: Mickie James

The Fourth Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Match)
Featuring Big Show, Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman, Apollo Crews, Mojo Rawley and more Superstars

Is there a Superstar on the roster right now more fitting of a win in this match?  Braun has been on a incredible roll on RAW and has made believers out of even the most cynical of Wrestling fans.  When Braun first arrived in WWE he felt like he was going to be your typical big guy with a limited move set, however Braun has proven time and time again that he is capable of adapting his in ring style and giving us a big guy wrestler who we can truly be excited about.  I feel like the final three in this match are going to be Braun Strowman, Big Show, and Sami Zayn.  Big Show will be eliminated in epic fashion big Braun Strowman leaving only he and Sami Zayn in the ring.  Sami will go on a tear and at one point will look like he is about to get the upset win only to end up falling victim to the monster among men.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Raw Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c) vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Cesaro & Sheamus

Before everyone goes and gets excited about seeing Matt and Jeff Hardy return to take part in this match are going to be disappointed.  If Matt and Jeff returning is going to happen I would venture a guess that they will either make an appearance here once the match itself is complete or you will see them show up on either RAW or Smackdown during the week to keep the momentum going after Wrestlemania is all wrapped up.  As for this match I would think we should expect a hard hitting match full of fun and excitement.  While I feel it would be best for Gallows and Anderson to continue their reign as the Raw Tag Team Champions, I do not see this being the actual outcome.  Expect to see the match end with Enzo and Cass picking up the win and getting a big pop for finally capturing tag team gold.

Winner: Enzo & Cass

Intercontinental Championship Match
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Baron Corbin

I want to be excited about this match but unfortunately the build for it seemed to take a back seat to the rest of the matches on the card.  What started as a nice start to this fued has simply lost a lot of steam in the last couple of weeks leading to Wrestlemania.  This fued could be a classic if these two men were given the time they deserve.  That aside the match itself should be a solid one.  I am expecting to see another title change here to keep Baron Corbin looking strong and making Wrestlemania a stage where he truly shines.  Last year Corbin won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, this year the Intercontinental Title, what could we see from the Lone Wolf next year at Wrestlemania?

Winner: Baron Corbin

United States Championship Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Is it just me or does it seem like eery time Chris Jericho has a match scheduled for Wrestlemania that we as fans immediately assume that it is going to be the match that steals the show?  The reason for this is simple, Chris Jericho is is the best in the world at what he does and he will always give 200% in these matches.  Kevin Owens who has been a workhorse since coming to WWE has proven he can tangle with the absolute best and given a solid amount of time in the ring Owens can deliver five star matches.  This match has been strongly booked despite the small blemish that was the Fastlane Main Event.  If Chris Jericho is in fact taking time off then this is the perfect opportunity for the WWE to make Kevin Owens the dastardly heel character that we all know he can be.  I see this one ending in similar fashion to the Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn match in NXT where Owens beat Sami Zayn to the point of no response which forced officials to end the match and declare Owens the winner.  If you want heel heat on Kevin Owens then what better opportunity then to have him annihilate Y2J at Wrestlemania.

Winner: Kevin Owens

Raw Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match
Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

I have the upmost respect for the Women’s Revolution in WWE and the great performers that they have developed as well.  The only issue is that with a thin roster on both shows they are exhausting these matches and playing hot potato with the title way too often.  I think we can expect to see a Sasha Banks heel turn in this match and expect it to happen somewhat early.  What do I mean by this?  Well expect to see Sasha Banks using heel tactics eliminate Bayley from the match first meaning we will see a new Champion for sure.  I would then expect to see Bayley return to retaliate and cost Sasha her place in the match.  This will leave us with only Nia Jax and Charlotte, and I believe we will then see Charlotte pick up the win in the end.

Winner: Charlotte

SmackDown LIVE Commissioner vs. The Phenomenal One
Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles

Anyone who believes that this match is below the caliber of AJ Styles should go and read my article on my page here about why I believe that is completely wrong.  I would expect to see some great spots in this match from both men.  Shane is not afraid to put his body through absolute hell to deliver a memorable performance and AJ Styles I am certain could wrestle against a mop and bucket and make the mop and bucket look good during it.  I also think that we are going to be in for a bit of a shock when we see Shane and AJ deliver a good portion of this match with some well calculated wrestling.  WWE lately love to troll us Internet fans and deliver something we are not expecting.  A quality wrestling match here would silence even the most cynical of fans.  In the end I still believe that AJ Styles is walking out with the win.

Winner: AJ Styles

Non-Sanctioned Match
Seth Rollins vs. Triple H

Non-Sanctioned must be the best way for WWE to state that the match is NO DQ.  I mean would anything less then a No DQ match even make sense here?  With Samoa Joe nowhere to be seen on the card you can only imagine that the Destroyer is going to get involved here cementing his alliance with HHH.  Just when it will seem impossible for Seth Rollins to even walk out of Wrestlemania under his own power we will then see a run in from Mick Foley who will be dressed in his old Cactus Jack gear and holding with him his barb wire bat.  Move over Negan in the Walking Dead because nobody hits someone with a barb wired bat quite like the legendary Mick Foley.  This will be enough of a treat to give Foley the send off he truly deserves before going for his surgery.  This will also allow for a Seth Rollins win as well.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Power Couples Collide
John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse

This is a match that has been building up perfectly.  The Miz has truly been taking his opportunities and giving us all a character that we absolutely love to hate.  Ever since the WWE brought Maryse back it has given a breathe of fresh air in to the career of The Miz and nobody can doubt the fact that the guy truly is must see tv at the moment.  Taking nothing away on the other end especially from John Cena.  Cena who always delivers on the mic and in the ring has been reverting back slightly to his earlier days and at times teetering slightly on the side of a heelish character.  I would expect to see John and Nikki pick up the win here, but I believe the real story is going to be after the match when John Cena purposes to Nikki bella in the middle of the ring.

Winner: John Cena & Nikki Bella

The Phenom vs. The Big Dog
The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns

I have been a lifelong fan of The Undertaker.  I have always enjoyed mysterious and dark characters in Wrestling and The Undertaker has been the best of them.  I do somewhat feel torn about this match, while it is amazing that at his age The Undertaker is still willing to come out and entertain us fans, at the same time I am torn because I do not want to see a broken down version of The Undertaker in the ring anymore.  Roman Reigns despite the heat he gets has been embracing his current run extremely well.  The WWE seem to be embracing the heel heat that Roman is receiving and they know putting him against The Undertaker is going to only add to the heel heat Roman receives.  At this point there is no streak to worry about anymore and it might just be time for Undertaker to give the torch over to the new guard.  The best outcome in this match would be to see a slug fest ending with Roman Reigns defeating The Undertaker and having the world express their anger and frustration online.  Roman Reigns may end up being the most talked about Superstar by the time Wrestlemania 33 comes to a close.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Universal Championship Match
Goldberg (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

At this point in the night everyone will be exhausted and we already have little to no interest in this match as it is.  While we could have been okay with the match had it just been a simple one on one encounter, however after having Goldberg win the Universal title and then making one of the main titles go up for grabs between two part time performers does not sit well with me or with most of the WWE Universe.  I can not imagine this match will go on for too long.  I believe Brock Lesner is going to decimate Goldberg, cut him like he did to Randy Orton and leaving the so called Superhero knocked out in a pool of his own blood.

Winner: Brock Lesner

WWE Championship Match
Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Randy Orton

When the brand split happened nobody was thinking that this fued would unfold like it did, nor would we have thought for a second that it would be taking the main spot at the Showcase Of The Immortals.  Randy Orton has done what many others have not and delivered a fued with Wyatt that was not just simply Good vs Evil.  There are many layers to this one here and the match itself is going to extremely good and should help get the WWE Universe interest back after Goldberg and Lesner put most of us to sleep.  As great as Orton is he does not need a win or a title run here to keep his name at the top of any WWE card, Wyatt on the other hand is only just starting his journey as a top guy and he needs to remain there where he belongs.  I believe the match is going to end with Wyatt getting the upper hand on Orton and revealing his new look for The Wyatt Family.  I am going to go a limb here and say that Erik Rowan will be involved and also the latest edition to the Wyatt Family and yes I am going on a limb here to say that Bo Dallas will be revealed as a new member of The Wyatt Family.  Bo Dallas really needs to be added to this group to bring back his career, and the recent beard that Dallas has been sporting almost makes me BOLIEVE that this is the way it is going to happen.  The distraction from the new family will seal a victory for Bray Wyatt here.

Winner: Bray Wyatt
